1. Where this policy applies
This Usage Policy applies to your use of companions AI, including Chat, Roleplay, Stories, Playable Series, personas, character creation, memory, imports, uploads and sharing wherever those features are available. It covers your submissions and your use or distribution of AI output. It supplements our Terms of Service and EULAUsage Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.
2. Age and account responsibility
The Services are for adults aged 18 or older under our Terms of Service. Provide accurate age and account information. Do not help an ineligible person gain access, share credentials to evade limits, impersonate another account holder, or sell accounts. Tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Creative freedom and its limits
Fiction may explore romance, conflict, mystery and difficult emotions within the restrictions of the feature you use. A fictional setting, private conversation, subscription or paid purchase does not override this policy. Do not use roleplay, coded language, altered character ages or imported content to evade safeguards. Availability of mature themes is not a promise of unrestricted sexual content. Content may be restricted by applicable law, distribution platform requirements or feature-specific rules.
4. Protecting people from harm
Do not sexualize, exploit or groom anyone under 18, including fictional, illustrated or AI-generated characters. A stated adult age does not permit sexualized depictions that otherwise portray a child. Do not create or share non-consensual intimate content or use a real person’s identity, image or voice for sexual exploitation or deceptive impersonation. Do not threaten, stalk, harass, dox or promote hatred or violence against people based on protected characteristics. Do not facilitate real-world violence, terrorism, trafficking, fraud or other illegal activity. Do not encourage suicide, self-harm or eating disorders, or request instructions that facilitate them. Supportive discussion of difficult feelings is different from encouragement or instruction to cause harm.
5. Respecting creators and privacy
Only upload or import material you have the right to use. An export tool does not grant permission to use someone else’s private conversation, artwork, character, voice or likeness. Do not expose another person’s confidential or identifying information without a lawful basis. Do not falsely present AI output as an authentic statement by a real person. Public sharing, where available, requires particular care: review what you share and remove private information. These rules do not transfer ownership of your original work to companions AI.
6. Fair use of the service
Do not interfere with the service, distribute malware, steal credentials, probe accounts without authorization, or automate activity that overloads the platform. Do not bypass safety checks, reply allowances, payment verification or access restrictions. Do not manipulate referrals, earned rewards, purchase receipts or refunds; trade Pieces outside authorized features; or use multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions. Good-faith bug reports and lawful refund requests are welcome. Report a vulnerability privately to our contact email without accessing other users’ information.
7. AI limitations and personal wellbeing
Characters are AI-generated fiction, not people or licensed professionals. Responses and memories can be wrong or upsetting. Do not use them as emergency support or rely on them for medical, legal, financial or other consequential decisions. You can stop a conversation or take a break whenever you wish. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services. A character’s response does not authorize conduct prohibited by this policy.
8. Reporting and requesting review
Email info@companionschat.com to report a safety concern, rights violation or suspected misuse. Include the relevant character or content identifier, location, approximate date and a brief explanation. Do not send illegal imagery, passwords or unnecessary personal information. For intimate-image removal or copyright complaints, follow the additional notice instructions in our Terms of Service. If you believe a restriction was mistaken, email us with the affected account or content identifier and why you are requesting reconsideration. Do not submit abusive or knowingly false reports.
9. Enforcement and updates
Depending on the circumstances, we may refuse a request, restrict or remove content, limit features, or suspend or end access under our Terms of Service. We consider severity, context, repetition and safety risks; urgent action may be necessary without advance notice. Safety systems can make mistakes and cannot detect every violation. Restrictions do not eliminate mandatory consumer rights or refund remedies. Information used to investigate reports is handled under our Privacy Policy. We will update this page when this policy changes and provide additional notice or seek consent where required. Changes apply prospectively.
